IDA GIANCOLA
Some collaborations happen on a calendar. Ours happened over a year of voice notes, late-night ideas, shared obsessions, half-finished thoughts, and the kind of creative shorthand you only develop when you’re genuinely inspired by someone. Working with Ida Giancola wasn’t a project—it was a slow, electric conversation that kept unfolding, pulling both of us deeper into the world we wanted to build.
We knew from the beginning that the fragrance had to feel like the moment after the moment—that liminal slice of night when you leave one place behind, step into the cold air, and wonder where the rest of the evening might take you. The mystery. The quiet thrill. The smoky bar that turns into a story. The kind of night you can’t plan, only follow.
The Craft Behind the Bottle
“The Afters” is about atmosphere, mood, and edge, everything—down to the bottle—had to deepen that feeling.
We partnered with a master Italian resin maker who hand-poured each cap individually. Every cap is its own sculpture: molten resin mixed and shaped by hand, hardening into something completely unique. No two are identical. No two nights are identical either—so it felt right.
Each bottle is blended in small batches at our lab in Brooklyn, filled and finished by hand, so the entire piece feels intentional, human, and resplendent with details..
The Scent We Built Together
We wanted a scent with heat, shadow, and a pulse—a fragrance that wears like a silk dress in a hot room.

The result is a honeyed gourmand with depth—a fragrance that opens with a flash of cherry and smoke, then folds into saffron-spice and patchouli haze, settling into a warm, resinous, late-night skin scent. It’s meant to feel intimate. Lived in. Curious. A little dangerous, but in a beautifully elegant way.

“The Afters” is the first place where FUME and Ida met: the maximalism of her taste and personality, our meticulous obsession with craft and a shared love of a night that goes off script. It’s a scent for slipping into something dark, for walking through a lobby and being noticed. You’re not chasing the night, the night follows you.

When Nikkolas invited us to collaborate on Academia, we were immediately taken by the romance of the Dark Academia aesthetic. Leather-bound volumes, midnight libraries, smoky notes of cedar and vetiver. For us, this was merely a scent, but a narrative: about what’s hidden in the attic, about the stories unread, and the dark tale that draws you in.
The Olfactive Identity
Academia opens with clarity and edge: cedar and pink pepper top notes give a fresh-cut feel; the heart pivots into white floral-lily of the valley, jasmine, patchouli and leather; and the dry-down lands softly in ambergris, vetiver and white musk. This layered architecture evokes lecture halls, late-night reading, hushed ambition.
The result: a scent that is at once cerebral and sensual, modern classic and quiet rebellion.
The Packaging Story
The packaging for Academia was designed to feel like opening an ancient book you were never meant to put down. The box opens on a hinge, wrapped in black leather with gold lettering—part archive, part relic—revealing a poem written by Nikkolas pressed into the interior on black velvet. Inside sits the bottle: simple, substantial, intentionally quiet. A custom label, a weighty zamac cap, and clean architectural lines give it the presence of an object meant to be kept on a desk, a shelf, or a nightstand—something to return to again and again.

Gay Juice is inspired by 70's Queer counterculture and CAMP. An experiment in florals, fruit and amber, the limited edition collection celebrates the history and legacy of Queer liberation.
Over 100 versions of Gay Juice were formulated over a year and a half and the final version features unheard of quantities of natural Ylang Ylang and Vetiver. Capturing the fleeting freedom of summer near the shore,only 500 bottles will ever be made and is exclusively available at Queer-owned small retailers and online.
GOLDEN STALLION
ÈTALON
We worked closely with Steve Canar of Étalon, a gender fluid fashion brand based in Los Angeles, to develop a fragrance that would capture what it is to be man in the modern world: intelligent, confident, athletic and irresistibly sexy.
The fragrance we created is an Intoxicating blend of Fresh Spices, Aromatic Herbs, and Warm Woods all played over a Fresh Marine Ambrox canvas.
This modern aromatic-amber fougère opens with the bright citrus lift of Calabrian Bergamot and the dry spiciness of Black Pepper, delivering immediate freshness and impact. At its heart, a layered trio of Sichuan, Pink, and Black Pepper creates textured spice, while Lavender, Geranium, and Elemi introduce a crisp, herbal complexity. Vetiver and Patchouli anchor the composition with earthy elegance, connecting the fragrance from top to base with a persistent, masculine structure.
The drydown reveals a resonant blend of Ambroxan, Labdanum, and Cedarwood, delivering a mineral, leathery warmth with radiant projection. A decadent Rum Accord rounds out the base, adding boozy sweetness and sensual depth.
Crafted with precision, this fragrance builds a continuous spicy arc, enriched with aromatic brightness and a sophisticated amber-woody finish. Clean yet indulgent, structured yet free, it’s a bold evolution of classic masculinity—designed to linger.
Sustainable Desert Luxury
Inspired by the aromatic botany of the desert, MICA documents and pays homage to the vastness of the ecosystem and cultures it references.
Our fragrances are uniquely defined by a sense of place. Being wildly creative and resourceful allows us to create a fingerprint of the desert and bottle it in a scent that reflects the area it was born.
MICA is named after Mica Mountain, the highest peak in the Rincon Mountain District of Saguaro National Park.The journey to Mica summit is made up of saguaro cactus, low growing shrubs and grasses, juniper, pinyon, oak woodlands, and a exquisite assemblage of scents.

HOROLOGICAL SOCIETY OF NEW YORK
A collaboration with the Horological Society of New York and Hoax Parfum. Journeying deep into the society’s storied library archive, FUME created an iconic visual identity for their first-ever fragrance. The blue linen box is hand-embossed with an interpretation of the society's 150-year-old logo. The magnetic enclosure opens onto a deep bed of black velvet custom fit to house the 50ml octagonal flaçon. Here it’s all about the details - the bottle's gold cap recalls the detail of a vintage timepiece bezel.
Inside the bottle, we find an artful olfactive imaging of 1866. Crafted to be experienced slowly, the fragrance opens with the invigorating sensation of crisp alpine air. As it develops, we find ourselves transported to the eclectic bustle of Midtown Manhattan’s Club Row. The scent of the roasted nut cart on the corner evokes a symphony with cedar-wood and tobacco, bringing forth a welcoming warmth reminiscent of days spent in the Society’s library. Distinctly temporal in nature, 1866 finally transforms into an invisible timepiece, enveloping the wrist in supple leather and amber that wears evenly well past a New York minute.
